Wattam

Funomena is an independent game studio founded in January of 2013 by Robin Hunicke and Martin Middleton, previously of That Game Company.

Wattam is the latest title from game designer Keita Takahashi, the creator of the cult classics Katamari Damacy and Noby Noby Boy. For a brief summer in 2015, I worked with Funomena on Wattam, just when the game (and the studio) was getting off the ground.

Among others, I developed the systems that power the grass/snow deformation in the Spring and Winter worlds, as well as the water ripples and physics in the Summer world. Additionally, I prototyped systems for physics-based stacking / climbing.

Wattam released in late 2019 to a wonderful critical and public reception. You can find out more about the game here.
