Luna: AR

Funomena is an independent game studio founded in January of 2013 by Robin Hunicke and Martin Middleton.

I led AR/VR engineering there from 2018-2019.

During that time we worked on Luna: Moondust Garden, which released in 2019. We delivered the experience in a short 8 months on rapidly changing hardware. Over the coarse of development, we built a variety of simulators and tools for building AR experiences quickly in Unity. I gave a detailed dive into these systems in my talk at GDC 2019: “Faking Mixed Reality: Building Reality Simulators”.

After Luna, we worked on an un-announced Oculus Quest title. When the project went into hiatus, I left Funomena to refocus my energy into Pontoco.
